Our experience with wheel chocks began with Edward Worden, the founder of Worden Safety, a commercial truck driver. After a bad storm, Ed found himself driving on a slick icy road. He was forced to pull over and stop on an incline. Ed placed the chocks that his employer had issued under the wheels of his truck and, as he stepped away, both chocks failed and his tanker full of gasoline slid down the hill and into a ditch. Prompted by this experience, Ed used his knowledge of trucks and new desire for trucking safety to create what we now considered the first modern wheel chock, our HWG-SuperGripper.

Since then, we have expanded our line to over 730 wheel chocks and accessories, all designed and tested to meet or exceed industry standards, standards which we often helped to create.
